The Dino Doozer Foundation was began in August of 2008 in honor of Sherod Don Nichols. Sherod passed away December 29, 2009 of Neurofibromatosis (NF) and a Rare Childhoon Cancer. >>Learn more about NF

Sherod was extremely brave. During the worst time of his life he was able to go to Camp New Friends in Virginia. For one week he was a normal kid, which brought him much peace. His wish was that other kids with his disease could feel that way too.

In honor of her son’s wishes Karinsa Viramontes created Dino Doozer Foundation. She offers support to parents and families. The Foundation hosts events to raise money to send other children with NF to camp, which costs $3000 per child, and also to raise awareness about this rare disease. In 2010 Dino Doozer Foundation was able to send 3 children to camp! The camp is an opportunity for so many kids to realize that they can have fun and enjoy themselves. This disease can dismember the kids, making them subject to lots of redicule from other kids. The camp offers them freedom from that.
Dino Doozer Foundation also helps support parents of children with cancer.
This video was created by Camp New Friends the last year that Sherod Don Nichols was able to go to camp. Sherod is the reason Dino Doozer Foundation was created.
